Psalms 5:7-8 (Message)
And here I am, your invited guest–
I enter your house; here I am,
prostrate in your inner sanctum,
8 Waiting for directions
to get me safely through enemy lines.
I have to be honest. The last few weeks have been difficult. We are absolutely loving the work and the community we have been called to here in Fort Wayne, but aspects of this transition are taking their toll on us. Part of our present reality is the struggle to sell our house in North Carolina. We boldly pray, along with countless others for God to make the way… and we trust that he will. It has made our finances tricky though and lately it feels like we haven’t been able to catch a break. Everything from delayed tax returns to unexpected/unplanned (yet necessary) expenses have made the weight of this feel like much more than we can bear. Actually, it is more than we can bear, but it is right in God’s wheelhouse. We follow a God who provides. The enemy would have us believe there is no way through, but God makes the way for us through even the most complicated threats.
I don’t yet know the way in which God will bring resolution to our current struggles, but I believe he will. In the meantime, I am reminded this morning the way we have been welcomed into God’s house… not just into the front room, but into the deepest places.
Thank you Father for welcoming me. Give me patience and peace as I wait for your direction. You have made the way through enemy lines. Reveal it to me in your time.
