Today is Valentine’s Day. Candy hearts, flowers, chocolates, and kids with paper Hello Kitty and Spongebob valentines for their friends. Fancy dinners, engagement rings, etc. Today we will hear the word love as much or more than any other day this year. So, I thought it would be appropriate to add just a little more love talk to the fray. Ephesians 5 says,
Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that. (Ephesians 5:1, 2 MSG)
Today is a day for love… but then so is everyday. Everyday God loves us (as it says in the children’s Bible we use with our kids) with a, ” a wonderful, Never Stopping, Never Giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever Love.” Amidst the flowers and candy and everything else you will see today, watch for how God loves you. Watch what God does and then you do it too.
