Out of the Darkness

Read John 12:37-50

Throughout This gospel of John the writer is asking and answering one primary question — who is Jesus? John is writing so that we, his readers, will believe that Jesus is the Son of God so that we may have life in him.

But despite all the miraculous signs Jesus had done, most of the people still did not believe in him. (John 12:37 NLT)

It isn’t about miracles or magic tricks. It is about Jesus.

Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. (John 12:44-46 NLT)

It’s about Jesus. Fix your eyes on him and it is like a light coming on in the dark. Once our eyes adjust we can see clearly. It is Jesus we’ve been looking for all along. He is the way out of the darkness.

Today will I follow in faith or will I stand still… waiting for a sign? Today I will follow.
